Which areas do you cover?
I can travel to your home or wedding venue within South Bucks, Berkshire, Hartfordshire, Oxfordshire, West London and Central London. Travel within 15 miles of postcode HP16 is free, with additional mileage charged at 40p per mile thereafter. Any toll, parking and congestion charges incurred will also be payable
- Why do I need a make-up trial and what happens?
The make-up trial would normally take place 6-8 weeks before your wedding, once you have finalised what you will be wearing, colour schemes etc. It will take approximately 2 hours and allows us to discuss all the relevant details of your wedding, and your make-up preferences. We can then try out different styles and colours, until you have just the look you want. On completion, I will create a face chart showing the make-up and colours used and how they have been applied, so you can be assured that everything will be done exactly the same on your wedding day. By having a trial in advance, you will have the peace of mind of knowing that your make-up is going to look great on the day
- What happens on the wedding day?
On your wedding day, we need to leave plenty of time before the ceremony. Start times will be based on the time of the ceremony and the number of people who require make-up. It is advisable to allow 45 minutes for the bride and half an hour for other members of the bridal party. All of these details will be discussed at your trial.
- Will my wedding make-up last into the evening?
The techniques used for applying your make-up will ensure that it lasts all day, although I would suggest that you purchase a lipstick for topping up as required. I will give you the details of products used.
- Do you offer a hair styling service?
No. I have chosen to focus entirely on make-up, but depending on your location, I may be able to recommend a suitable hair stylist.
- Do you sell the make-up products you use?
No. I enjoy the independence of being able to choose from a range of the top quality products for my work without being tied to specific brands for sales purposes. I can however provide recommendations on products that may be suitable for you and where you can get them. I can also provide details of the lipstick / gloss used at your trial if you wish to make a shop purchase for topping up on your wedding day.
- When do I pay?
Trials, lessons and special occasion make-up sessions (including travel charges) are all payable on the day. For a wedding day booking, receipt of a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking. The remaining balance together with any additional travel charges is payable on the wedding day.
- How can I pay?
I prefer cash, but can also accept a bank transfer . Sorry – no credit / debit cards.
- What happens if I have to cancel a booking?
Cancellation of a wedding booking will unfortunately result in the loss of your booking deposit. There are no charges incurred for cancellations of lessons or special occasion make-up sessions.
- What happens if you can’t make the wedding day due to illness or another emergency?
I would very much hope that this won’t happen as I understand how important it is for your wedding day to run smoothly. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, I will do my best to find another artist to take my place and ensure that they are fully briefed on your specific requirements as documented at your trial. Failing that, your trial costs and booking deposit will be refunded in full.
